I began my academic career many years ago. I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I taught my three little sisters their alphabet and how to write their names before they ever started school! My little sisters had "school" every day before they even knew what school was all about.
I graduated from Baker County High School in Macclenny Florida in 1978. I received my AA Degree from the Florida Community College in Jacksonville, Florida. I was a teacher's aide for five years at Lee Jr. High School and Madison Primary School. I decided to go on and become a teacher. I went back to school and received my BA in Elementary Education from FAMU. I then went on to earn my Master's Degree from Nova Southeastern University.
I have taught grades 1-5 over the past 28 years. I have also been an adjunct instructor for North Florida Community College, the University of Central Florida and the University of North Florida. I am currently working with UNF as an online adjunct instructor and teach a reading course for aspiring teachers.
This is my 29th year in education. Last June, I locked my fifth grade classroom door for the last time and began a new career as Lee's Curriculum Coordinator/ Guidance Counselor. I enjoy working with Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Cindy, and Mrs. Melissa in the office. I look forward to helping both the teachers and students at our wonderful school! Go Rockets!
